Portable Baptistries
Every church planter needs a baptistry. However, if you are using a rented facility, it can be difficult to set-up and have a baptismal service. Portable baptistries can be the answer.
What should you look for when buying a portable baptistry?
Portability – Some tanks are good options; however, you need a pick-up truck to move them to the church. Make sure that you can transport the tank that you get.
Practicality – How are you going to fill it? How are you going to empty it? Are you able to put warm water into the tank, and do you need to be able to keep it warm till you use it?
When I planted a church, I used a fiberglass type tank. When we got to the school, we could fill it with a hose from the janitor's sink. We were able to use hot water that was good to keep it warm till we needed it. Others might need to put a heater in the tank. When we finished with the service, I used a pump to empty the water out a back door.
Others might have to set up a baptistry at someone’s house and have the members go there after the service.

Portable Baptistry Options
Inflatable Hot Tub – This option is my favorite. This tub is an easy option to move. It has a built-in heater to keep the water warm. It comes with a drain that you can connect a hose for emptying. Depending on your location, you might need to buy a pump to empty the tub. Also, it is quick and easy to set up. And hey there could be a side benefit to the pastor and his wife between baptisms. LOL LOL
This one is a good size for baptizing taller people.

Fiberglass – With this option, you can eventually build it into a permanent facility. You will need a truck to move this because of its size. The weight is two hundred pounds empty. If you need to keep the water warm, you will need to buy a heater. This option also uses much less water than the hot tub. You might need to buy a pump to empty this tank.

Folding Frame – This type of baptistry is basically a portable pool. It is very lightweight and easy to set up and take it down. This would be another easy option for transportation. You will need to decide if you need a heater or a pump.
