I. Facebook Page
- Open your personal Facebook page
- On your computer, select “Create” button
- Select “Page”
- Select page type “Business or Brand”.
- Enter your church name.
- Enter your category. Type in church and you can select Baptist Church
- Put in the meeting place address and your church phone number
- Click Continue
- Upload profile picture this can be of the pastor or use church logo Profile pic needs to be 360 X 360 pixels
- Upload cover photo. You can use your churches theme or a picture of your meeting place for this. Your cover photo needs to be 828 X 465 pixels
- These two pics need to be designed with your branding guide in mind.
- Under your church name select create page @username enter your Facebook name such as bbcyourcityname
- Select Add a button – here you can select “contact” and “Call Now” hit next and enter your phone number
- Select “back” then “Send Email” hit “Next” and enter your email address
- Select “Back” then select “Learn More About Your Business” select “Learn more” then “next”. Enter your web address
- Close the “Add A Button” box
- Enter some Facebook posts so that people have something to see when they come to your page.

II. Facebook Group
- Open your personal Facebook page
- On your computer, select “Create” button
- Select “Group”
- Enter your group name. If your page name is BBCyourcityname then enter the name of the group as BBCyourcityname – Group or faimily. Having group at the end helps you make sure which one you are posting to.
- Enter others into the group if you are ready to do this. Do this by typing in the space a person’s name. If they are in Facebook, you will see them, and you can select that person. You can even type in a short invite message.
- Select “Choose Privacy”. Then select “Private”
- Select “Create” and your group is started.
- Customize your group by adding a photo. This Photo can be your logo, church building, or Church theme. The size of the image needs to be 1640 X 856 pixels. Make sure there are no words by the edges, as Facebook might crop part of them off.

III. Twitter
- Go to twitter.com and select “Sign up”
- Name – Enter Church Name to stay consistent along all platforms, use your Facebook name such as bbcyourcityname
- Enter your churches phone number
- Enter your date of birth. This is just to prove you are old enough to have an account. No one will see this.
- Select “Next” and then “Next” again
- Select “Sign up” and Twitter will send a verification code to your phone.
- Enter your password you want to use
- Enter a profile Pic. This can be a logo or your pic. I would use a church logo. The size must be 400 X 400 pixels.
- Next describe yourself. Here you can put a theme such as, “A Church that desire to be Multiplying Worship”
- What are you interested in – “Skip for now”
- Suggestions for you to follow – Next
- Turn on notifications will let you know when someone engages with your tweet.
- Begin tweeting

IV. Instagram
- Instagram is best by starting with downloading the app on your smart phone.
- Select “Create New Account”
- Then select “sign up with phone or email”. If you use your Facebook account to sign in, then all your personal Facebook information will be entered.
- Enter your churches phone number then “Next”
- Enter your church’s name. Remember you want to stay consistent over all platforms so use the same name here. So, if you are using bbcyourcityname then use it here also. Then select “Next”.
- Then create a password then select “Next”
- You can enter anything you want for a birthday. The birthday you use must make you 13 years old or older. This will not be a part of your public profile. Select “Next”.
- At the welcome hit “Next”
- Find Facebook Friends. Use this if you would like to start inviting people to your Instagram Account. Or hit “Skip”
- Add friends from your contacts or you can do this later
- Add profile photo. Use church logo or picture of pastor. The photo should be 110 X 110 pixels.
- Discover people. You do not want to use your church’s account to follow people. You want people to follow them. If you follow people and comment on their posts, it will show the comment as coming from the church. I feel encouraging comments is better from a pastor not the church.
- Once you are set-up, select the icon in the bottom right corner
- Select “Edit Profile”
- Select “Switch to a Professional Account”
- Select “Business”
- Learn about your followers select “Continue”
- Connect to your Facebook page Select your churches Facebook Page. If you do not have one yet, then select “Don’t Connect to Facebook Now”
- Select a category and type Baptist Church then “Next”
- Enter your church email, phone and meeting location then select “Done”
- Make sure your profile is correct, you can invite others to follow, and you can start posting.
